He will chew on them too for sure but they wont split and break and potentially hurt him.

You Could use some small Cardboardboxes and craft something for him or purchase wodden furnishing which I would always reccomend over plastic but I know that it is not easy to find that in the USA. I would say that that is a pretty normal behaviour for a hamster that is put into a smaller cage then he normally lives in! It can be a sign of stress or boredome or both! Since it is a temporary cage, I would advice you to exchange everything he can hurt himself with such as plastic except for the wheel because if your hamster lives in such a small environment he atleast needs the chance to run off his energy in the wheel. I have no idea what's wrong, please help! DX He has a wheel, multiple toys, usually has tons of room. I use kaytee clean and cozy for bedding, and feed him Hazel Hamster food. I think I'm doing everything correctly, I've even changed supplies wondering if any of them were stressing him. I've spent countless dollars on teething toys and treats for him, but he refuses everything! I even went out and gathered a few little chunks of bark and small sticks to see if he would take anything. The entire opening is chewed slightly, and I'm worrying he'll start chewing his wheel next! I've bought him legitimate little hamster houses, but he prefers using an old, large hamster ball that I put in there one day. Then I noticed the entrance to his little hut was chewed as well.

The first thing I noticed was his water bottle, I was wondering how it emptied so fast and found that he had chewed through a small piece of it! (I have since moved to a thicker, ceramic water dish that I clean and refill every other day)

He started chewing plastic just before we began packing to move. I keep him in a very large 40 gallon tank usually, but I am moving to a new state, and for carrying purposes, have given him a temporary home in a much smaller 10 gallon tank. Hi! I have a syrian named Mochi, and I've recently become worried about him as he has begun to chew on plastic.
